BAQÂ' ce qui demeure après la brûlure

Yousra Dahry / Cathy Min Jung @le Rideau

How does a woman narrate the violence she has gone through, when her name, her face, her faith — everything about her — precedes her own words? She speaks, but her voice is already drifting elsewhere. She is taken away, displaced, loaded with what she hasn’t said. Her own story becomes a battleground

Respire

Geneviève Damas @Théâtre Les Tanneurs

In this one-woman show, Geneviève Damas delves into the question of money—or rather, the ability to spend it. Based on her own family history, the actress investigates her truth and seeks to understand how a simple daily incapacity reflects the marks that History leaves on human destinies.

Florence Minder / Venedig Meer @Théâtre National

With its unique voice, the Venedig Meer company creates a colourful visual universe where the meeting of science and the intimate invites us to look at our surroundings in a different light. A journey that is at once gentle and lucid, and one that allows us to perceive the creative power of human emotions as well as that of natural phenomena.

Olga de Soto @Théâtre National

What remains of a performance once the final applause has died away? On 25 June 1946, the premiere of the ballet Le Jeune homme et la mort, conceived by Jean Cocteau and choreographed by Roland Petit, took place. Sixty years later, Olga de Soto has chosen, not to reconstruct the work, but to collect its echoes.

Adeline Rosenstein / Maison Ravage @le Rideau

About

CRUSH – the new biennial theatre festival in Brussels – will take place from 9 to 12 December 2026 at Théâtre Les Tanneurs, Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, Théâtre le Rideau and Varia – Théâtre & Studio. Four days to discover our 11 favourite new theatre productions in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Born out of the desire of our four Brussels-based theatres to pool our perspectives and sensibilities, the CRUSH festival showcases stand-out French-language Belgian productions, characterized by diverse aesthetics and unique voices. The aim of the festival is clear: to offer both artists and their works an ambitious platform, to create the conditions for performances, ideas and imaginations to genuinely circulate and to foster encounters with new audiences, in Belgium and beyond.

For spectators, itineraries have been designed to guide them from one theatre to another, allowing them to explore Brussels as they take in the performances and discover the diversity of productions that make up our artistic landscape.

For Belgian and international professionals, a specific programme is on offer: presentations of projects in development, opportunities for discussion, and exclusive dialogue sessions with the artistic teams. CRUSH thus becomes a space for talent scouting, networking and looking to the future.

By bringing together artists, programmers and spectators, the biennial strengthens the artistic network between Brussels, Wallonia and the international scene. It affirms a shared dynamic: that of a living, contemporary, open theatre, capable of fostering dialogue between regions and inventing new forms of circulation.

CRUSH is about sharing favourites — and about the collective energy of four venues.
